TECHNICAL DETAILS
DEMOLITION CHIMNEY /FIREPLACE
The decommissioning operations were preceded by a series of preliminary clean-up interventions:
- of products containing MCA;
- of the system circuits in place.
The activities were carried out using closed-circuit intervention techniques, to avoid any type of contamination of the soil matrix and zero emissions into the surrounding environment.
Height of installations: from +10 to +45 meters.
Demolition of a 60-metre iron fireplace and a 90-metre reinforced concrete chimney.
Tons of waste managed:
- 130,000 of demolished cement;
- 18,000 of ferrous material demolished and sent for recovery;
- 4,000 metal-based (dangerous) reclaimed waste with a mobile washing system.
PHOSPHORITE SILOS
An artefact made of reinforced concrete with a circular plan with an external diameter of 35 meters and a total height of 28 meters. Another critical element is the presence of radionuclides of natural origin (NORM: Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials e TENORM: Technologically Enhanced Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials).
